Time erodes the data but it also helps historians to find new sources. Sometimes a single document changes the whole story, sending a huge library to the trash. History is a relentless inquiry and research discipline. As you plunge deeper into the subject, the more you find out that your knowledge is limited, the more you see that the goose’s foot is more combed than you thought. Katar’da düğümlenen çelişkiler ve olasılıklar

Etnik ve dini kimliklerin hepsi pleb kategorileridir. Belirleyici değillerdir. Ama araçtırlar. Şiddetin arkasındaki mantığı bunlara bakarak anlayamayız. Hakikati kimlik-kültür araştırmalarında arayan zamane sosyal bilimci tipi, bu pleb kategorilerine hem birbirlerini boğazlatacak hem kucaklaştıracak her çeşit malumatı arar, bulur (bulamazsa uydurur) ve yönetenlerin önüne hazır eder. Ama yönetenler bizim burada izini sürdüğümüz sistemik ve jeopolitik gereklere göre karar verirler ve sonrasında iktidar avanesi yazar çizer takımı o “akademisyen” malümatını da kullanarak plebler arasında ne gerekiyorsa (düşmanlık ya da kardeşlik) onu imal eder. İşte bu nedenle zamane postmodern/post-yapısalcı akademisyen ve akademi tipinin “bilim” (science) ve “bilgi” (conoscenze; knowledge; conaissance; savoire) üretmediğini, ancak malumat (information) üretebildiğini anlatmıştık. Veriyi (datum) üretiyor, depoluyor, sınıflayıp sunuyor (inform), ancak bunu bilgiye dönüştüremiyor, çünkü beşeri yaşama dair bütünlüklü bir kavrayışa ve siyasal bir projeye – büyük anlatıya – sahip değil. Diğer bir deyişle, bir akademisyenin daha en baştan akademinin tanımı gereği sahip olması gereken jakoben ruha sahip değil. Bu nedenle de yönetenlere maşa olmaktan kurtulamazlar.
